6B: From Rising Waters to Burning Buildings: Immerse Yourself in a Post-Disaster Simulation

Thursday, September 24 | 3:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.

Redesigning a disaster response simulation to focus on the recovery phase for prelicensure nursing students proved to aid in communication, collaboration, prioritization, delegation, assessment, and cultural humility. Interdisciplinary collaboration promoted realism of nursing’s role in a post disaster scenario. Students served in various capacities from disaster leaders to observers. Presenters will immerse you in the experience highlighting both the design and impact.
