1A: Real enough to care: Co-presence in hologram vs. flat-screen simulation for BSN students
Wednesday, September 17 | 2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.
Caring for patients is a complex, emotionally demanding role that requires learning in all three domains: psychomotor, cognitive, and affective. To impact deep rooted values and behaviors, experiences that promote the affective domain are needed to prepare nursing students for effective transition to practice. The use of holographic simulations is burgeoning, but few studies have compared its effectiveness with more accessible video-based modalities. To inform nursing education on the impact of this innovative technology, this study aimed to compare holographic to video-based simulation for pre-licensure nursing students.
