5E: Hardwiring Principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion into Clinical Teaching

Authors introduced Tanner’s Model of Clinical Judgment with adapted Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles to students in clinical courses in several U.S. schools. Students reflected on how the model influenced their patient care decisions. This presentation will explain how this exercise keeps DEI principles in the forefront of students’ thinking, and how to the strategies can enhance teaching practices.
