9B: Competency-Based and Concept-Based Education - What Does That Mean?

Friday, September 20 | 3:30 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. 

How many faculty understand both competency-based and concept-based education and how to incorporate both for effective teaching? This presentation will provide suggestions for faculty members to effectively blend competency-based and concept-based education, using description of various teaching strategies and emphasizing the importance of continuous assessment and feedback for the learner.
