6F: Human Trafficking Prevention and Preparedness: Resilience and Recovery
Thursday, September 24 | 3:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Human trafficking is a public health emergency requiring urgent nursing response. This workshop equips nurse educators to prepare nurses to recognize, respond, and refer. Education must be evidence-based, culturally responsive, survivor-informed, and trauma-informed. Using trauma-informed pedagogy, it acknowledges nurses’ own trauma histories and risk for vicarious trauma, fostering resilience and recovery.
