4I: Seeing Beyond the Screen: Intimate Partner Violence Telehealth Simulation

Thursday, September 18 | 9:15 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Intimate partner violence (IPV) during pregnancy affects couples across all demographics. Student nurses need clinical experiences to assess trauma risk, prioritize safety, and avoid re-traumatization. Utilizing technology, the faculty designed an IPV telehealth simulation for senior nursing students using a standardized patient. These simulations offer safe opportunities for students to practice caring for diverse populations while integrating technology to enhance comfort levels.
