7B: Preparing Tomorrow’s Nursing Workforce for Disaster: Integrating SBE in a Pre-licensure Curriculum

This program describes the design and implementation of an earthquake-focused disaster simulation-based experience within an undergraduate population health course. The session illustrates how disaster preparedness competencies are operationalized, how active learning strategies enhance student engagement, and how a scaffolded, multi-week design supports competency development in pre-licensure nursing students.
