10B: Scaffolding Disaster Management: From Tabletop to Immersive Simulation

Friday, September 25 | 4:30 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.

Immersive disaster simulations demand rapid decisions and teamwork, often resulting in cognitive overload for BSN students with limited prior experience. Our solution: a tabletop simulation early in the semester, using patient, staff, and resource cards to develop triage and clinical decision-making skills. This low-stakes approach boosts confidence and prepares students for high-pressure immersive and clinical scenarios.
