6G: Expanding the Nurse Educator Workforce using an Apprenticeship Model – Challenges and Opportunities
Thursday, September 19 | 3:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.
An innovative nurse educator residency program was developed as a registered apprenticeship to address vacancies and expand capacity within New Jersey schools of nursing. The program was offered free of charge and participants received courses in nursing education and paid on the job training. The residency has helped new to practice educators develop competencies within all aspects of the academic nurse educator role.
