6J: DEI: Education, Practice, Research, Advocacy, and Policy

Thursday, September 19 | 3:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.

The mission of the NLN is to promote excellence in nursing education to build a strong and diverse nursing workforce to advance the health of our nation and the global community. Diversity and Inclusion is an NLN core value that undergirds its mission because without diversity there can be no excellence. As clinicians, educators, researchers, and administrators we strive for excellence in achieving our north star of health equity so that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to live their healthiest life possible. Diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, social justice, and the social and structural determinants of health are all central drivers for transforming education, practice, research, and healthcare to advance health equity. Now more than ever it is important to understand and discuss DEI and the complexities of policies and strategies. Join a panel of NLN staff and consultants as they engage in a discussion of the topic: DEI: Education, Practice, Research, Advocacy, and Policy.
