4A: A model for measuring the abstract in nursing education

This presentation will describe formative assessment of abstract concepts in advanced practice nursing education. Participants will leave the session with a model for approaching assessment that can be generalized to multiple specialties. Therapeutic techniques in advanced practice psychiatric mental health nursing will be discussed as an exemplar. Participants will gain a framework for assessment practice as well as the tools and techniques needed to successfully assess learners
