8A: From Traditional to Transformational: Customizing the Dedicated Education Unit for Optimal Learning Outcomes

Clinical site challenges abound across the country. This session explores an innovative customized dedicated education unit program developed across four academic-practice partnerships. Seven years of outcome data demonstrate enhancements in student’s clinical experiences, an increase in self-efficacy scores, and high academic partnership satisfaction. In addition, this program has produced a smooth transition to practice by decreasing orientation time and increasing retention.
