1F: Exploring Best Practices in Diverse Faculty Mentoring

Wednesday, September 18 | 2:00 – 2:45 p.m.

Faculty mentoring has long been a valued practice associated with many positive outcomes. However, newer models beyond the traditional dyadic model, such as developmental networks and facilitated peer group mentoring, are prominent and hold promise in improving career outcomes. The purpose of our presentation is to examine these newer approaches to mentoring and to report on our college’s experience with a facilitated, peer group mentorship program for new junior faculty at the six month mark.
