3A: OSCE Evaluation in Prelicensure Nursing: Role in Competency Based Education
Thursday, September 19 | 8:15 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) is widely used in medical education yet has limited use in prelicensure nursing. When implemented correctly, OSCE offers an objective, reliable evaluation of psychomotor skills and has a role in competency based education. Using fair testing guidelines, an evaluation tool and process was created to assess foundational nursing skills in a pre-licensure nursing program.
