1G: The NLN Leadership Institute: Leaders Learning to Walk in Their Authority for Career Success

Leadership at all levels of the system in nursing education and practice is essential to address critical issues for health equity, workforce diversity, and the politics of organizational systems. Continuous leadership enhancement is a hallmark for leaders. It is important for leaders to take- up their authority to lead organizations towards transformation. This session will focus on aspects of two NLN Leadership Institute, yearlong programs, LEAD, and the Leadership Development Program for Simulation Educators. Bringing together world class faculty and a dynamic curriculum, these programs assist nurses in education and practice to enhance their leadership skills. The programs and outcomes will be discussed. A panel of alums will share their experiences and successes from participating in these two life-changing programs.
